What is Quantitative Reasoning?
Quantitative Reasoning (QR) “requires students to think critically and apply basic mathematics and statistics skills to interpret data, draw conclusions, and solve problems within a disciplinary or interdisciplinary context.” (source)
The GRE QR section is not testing you on math per se; it uses the math to test your reasoning ability, your attention to detail, your ability to eliminate answer choices, and more. There is no Trigonometry or advanced Algebra on the exam.
This informs everything we do to prepare you for the test. Reasoning is not just manipulating numbers. You need basic numerical literacy, which we will ensure you have, but then our work is to expand your ability to think on your feet and break down multiple-step problems.
